Presented by a team consisting of a clinical specialist and a coding specialist, this two-part virtual workshop emphasizes the importance of team collaboration within your inpatient rehabilitation unit to optimize coding results and explains which team members should be required, what their specific roles are, and which skill sets they can bring to the team in order to achieve the outcomes your facility is looking for. The rules for choosing an IGC have not changed, but the understanding and management of accuracy can always be improved. The presenters will examine recommended coding practices, make recommendations for improving IGC selection accuracy, and explain the impact of documentation on ICD coding, all of which affect compliance, outcomes management, and financial performance.
