UDS-PRO® System: Questions Regarding the IRF-PAIQuestions About the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument For regional training dates, types of training, and more, please close this window and refer to the links at the top of UDS-PRO® "Training & Education" page. With the Prospective Payment System and the use of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities Patient Assessment Instrument (based on the FIM™ instrument), it is imperative that your scoring be as accurate as possible to ensure appropriate reimbursement. Q: What type of training programs will be available to subscribers? A: We will offer both onsite and regional workshop programs. Q: Who is eligible to attend a training session? A: We will offer both types of training to our subscribers. Please note: Onsite training is available to non-subscribers, as well as limited consultation services. Click here for a listing of non-subscriber resources. A non-subscriber order form is available here. Q: What is the cost of the programs? A: An onsite cost for Clinical Training is $1250 plus the cost of the Instructor's travel expenses. An onsite cost for Software Training is $1250 plus the cost of the Instructor's travel expenses. Participation at a regional workshop for Clinical Training is $249 and the participant is responsible for his/her own travel expenses. A: The materials will include a participant manual that is included in the cost of the workshop. Q: Who will be providing instruction for UDSMR for the IRF-PAI programs? A: The current UDSMR Instructors will be responsible for the training programs very much in the same manner as they have for current FIM™ presentations. Q: Who would be most likely to attend the programs? A: We expect all disciplines to attend the presentations, but suspect that the majority may be nurses and therapists. Q: Who will provide ongoing training at facilities? A: We expect that a designated trained individual will be the coordinator and the trainer in each facility.
A: The regional workshops will be held in facilities in major cities with dates and locations still to be determined. Notification of workshops will be announced through mailings, fax communications and the "Connections" newsletter. Q: Will there be a credentialing examination? A: We do offer credentialing for subscribing facilities. A new exam has been created specifically for the IRF-PAI. For more information about credentialing, please contact Romunda Harris-Fonville at (716) 817-7814. Please note that the UDSMR Credentialing exam is NOT part of the clinical workshop. The exam is to be administered by the facility at a later date and time. Q: What type of educational materials will be available for individuals?
